Giving back to the community is an integral part of Lowe’s culture. Through charitable donations, volunteerism, and partnerships with nonprofits, Lowe’s is dedicated to making their community a better place for all. In Wichita, Lowe’s stores join forces to maximize their impact on the community—from refreshing flower beds at Century II to volunteering at the Kansas Humane Society, Lowes employees have done it all, and with a smile on their faces.

HumanKind is lucky to be one of the organizations that Lowe’s supports. Our partnership began when employees volunteered their time to distribute basic needs to thousands of Wichitans in need during Operation Holiday. Shannon Petricek, Lowe’s Store Manager at Derby says, “No matter how big or small the project or event, we want to make a difference. Our associates look forward to serving the Wichita community every year during Operation Holiday!”

Lowe’s involvement with HK doesn’t stop at Operation Holiday—chances are you saw a Lowe’s toilet in someone’s yard during our latest fundraising event, Flush Away Poverty. Lowe’s generously donated these to HK, allowing our staff and volunteers to focus on making them as eye-catching as possible and raising awareness for thousands of impoverished Wichitans.  Thanks to their donation and the community’s support, we raised more than $60,000 for our programs and services.

We are proud to have Lowe’s as a partner—their dedication to creating a better community for all is unmatched. It’s not every day that a sea of red vests and smiling faces shows up to volunteer, but when it does, we can’t help but feel lucky.
