Making Spirits Bright Since 1960

For more than 60 years, HumanKind Ministries has brought the community together to run Wichita’s largest holiday assistance program, Operation Holiday—helping our region’s most vulnerable residents get through the year’s coldest (and most expensive) months.

Thousands of low-income individuals and families rely on your support from Operation Holiday. Last year, we served more than 15,000 individuals, women, and men, providing them with food, grocery gift cards, children’s coats, toys, and more. This important work would not be possible without generous Wichitans like you, so please give what you can. Every dollar helps–no gift is too small.

During the winter season, many low-income and homeless individuals struggle to afford pet food for their furry family members. You can support our low-income neighbors and pets by making a monetary gift or by donating unexpired dog/cat food (5lb bags or smaller). Lets make the holiday season merry and bright for all!

Operation Holiday relies on the generosity of our community to share the magic of the holidays with thousands of low-income families. You can help by being a collection site for food, coats and more!

Contact us to be a collection site for this year’s Operation Holiday. Once we have your information, we will connect with you to provide an official OH collection box and schedule drop off times.

Collection boxes should be dropped off at the Operation Holiday warehouse, located in the former central library on 223 S. Main St. no later than Dec. 8th. If you have any questions regarding your Operation Holiday Collection box please email Community Engagement Coordinator Meredith, at Meredith@humankindwichita.org

Volunteer opportunities are available in both our warehouse (located in the former Wichita Central Library) in November, December, and during distribution week (Tuesday, Dec. 12 to Saturday, Dec 16).
