Get Help - Operation Holiday

Each year, since 1960, HumanKind Ministries distributes food, grocery gift cards, winter wear, blankets, pet food, and toys and gifts for children and teens through our Operation Holiday program. Children 14 and under receive gifts through our partnership with U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Youth aged 15-17 are provided gifts through HumanKind’s Teen2Teen program.

APPLICATIONS FOR OPERATION HOLIDAY 2019 ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED.

Applications for assistance through Operation Holiday 2019 were accepted in-person between Monday, November 4th and Monday, December 2nd, 2019. Please check back next November for information on applying for Operation Holiday 2020.

Applications no longer being accepted; information included below for reference only.

  • Households may apply for holiday assistance from either HumanKind Ministries’s Operation Holiday program or Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Please make sure your household applies to only one holiday assistance program.
  • Application must be completed in person.
  • Applicants are helped on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Select sites will be available to assist Spanish-speaking applicants.

2019 Eligibility Guidelines

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:

  • Be 18 years or older. Emancipated teens age 17 may apply, but must bring court documents.
  • Be a member of the applying household (only one application per household).
  • Confirm their household has not submitted applications to another holiday program.
  • Live in Sedgwick County or surrounding areas.
  • Be prepared to choose a date and time for distribution.

2019 Application Sites & Hours

Operation Holiday will accept applications at all sites November 4th through December 2nd. Please note some sites will be closed November 11 in honor of Veterans Day or during the week of Thanksgiving so check dates and times of the application site nearest to you in this flyer.

Applicants must bring:

  • Proof of identification (photo I.D.)
  • Proof of address (i.e., bill or letter postmarked in the past 30 days)
  • Social security numbers or proof of identification for every member in the family (including children)
  • Birth date for all family members
  • Proof of income for all members of the household for past two months (September and October)
  • Telephone or message number

      2019 Distribution

      Operation Holiday distribution will take place December 16-18, 2019 at our distribution center in the former Sears store at Towne West Square Mall, located at 4600 W Kellogg Drive, Wichita, KS 67209.

      If you need to authorize someone else to pick up your Operation Holiday benefits at distribution, download and complete the Proxy Authorization Form (English or Spanish). Please note, the person who comes to pick up your benefits will need to have a photo copy of your photo ID and bring their own photo ID with them to distribution.
