When Barbara and Joseph Sparkman were not able to make ends meet, they were evicted from their home and unexpectedly lost custody of their son. They didn’t know where to turn to next—Joseph called around asking and was led to HumanKind Ministries. Joseph said, “Finding HumanKind Ministries was a true act of God. HK saved us.”

During their stay with HK, they were able to stay together and live at the Inn—they were extremely thankful to not be split up. They also received case management which provided them with structure, guidance, and resources they needed to get back on track.
With help from HK, Joseph is now working at Subway, about to be promoted to an assistant manager. He said, “The people at HumanKind really gave me hope.” Now, Joseph and Barbara have moved into their own apartment, and are eager to get custody of their son again. They are very hopeful for the future and even look forward to giving back to HumanKind Ministries soon.
