5 questions with Cody Cokeley

Cody Cokeley, HumanKind Client Experience Associate at The Inn, was born and raised in Beaumont, KS. As an adult, Cody found himself facing addiction. After three years of struggling with substance use, Cody was able to find sobriety with the support of family and friends. Cody is honored to be a part of HumanKind Ministries, an organization that helps Wichitans who experience
poverty and homelessness, for almost two years.

 

1. What brought you to HumanKind?I heard about HumanKind from a friend, and I was intrigued by their mission. I was excited to work for HumanKind because I wanted to do something that had meaning where I could help members of our community.

 

2. What keeps you at HumanKind?I value the work that the HumanKind does. HumanKind is working to provide shelter and basic needs to people, just like you and me, who need our help. I love to meet new clients and make connections that I know will help improve the lives of families.

 

3. What are some of your favorite memories at HumanKind?I frequently see families move into The Inn who are in need of help. Some of my favorite memories are seeing these families with children, finally getting to move into their new homes. It makes me realize how important the work is that we are doing at HumanKind.

 

4. What are you looking forward to in the future?Last year, we were able to help 151 families move into permanent housing. I am looking forward to seeing that number grow each year and continue to serve the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

 

5. What are you most proud of during your time at HumanKind?I am most proud of my personal growth. Each day at HumanKind has given me the opportunity to learn how to become a better person. I know that the work I am doing is important and I look forward to the new opportunities that will come in the future.
