Meet Demarcus

A victim of Hurricane Katrina, Demarcus knows homelessness all too well. He moved to Wichita to be closer to family years ago and all went well for a time. When things turned south and he unexpectedly found himself on the streets of Wichita this past winter, Demarcus slept under bridges until discovering IFM’s winter shelter and ultimately getting a spot at our year-round shelter, the Inter-Faith Inn.

Approaching each day with optimism and determination—and with help from his IFM case manager—Demarcus soon found work and is taking important steps to stabilize his finances and life. Stories like Demarcus’s are only possible with support from committed neighbors like you.
