Milo’s Journey to Stable Housing

Milo, a Philadelphia native, moved to Wichita in the 90s to be closer to his family. After a rent increase, Milo could no longer afford his home and was forced to move out in 2023.

Things started to turn around in May of 2024 when Milo moved into The Studios, HumanKind’s transitional housing program. “It was an emotional day leaving the community I built on the streets, but I was thrilled to have a bed and a roof over my head,” Milo said.

The Studios helped Milo rebuild his rental history, and he’s looking forward to moving into his own apartment this May. “I’ll finally have my own stove and kitchen,” he said. “HumanKind has been a great stepping stone towards achieving stability in my life.”
